How Does the PF2 Pro Version Work?

The PF2 Pro is the automated version of the PF2 and is designed for use with NinjaTrader - though the PF2 Pro also includes the TradingView indicator packaged with the PF2 Lite. To operate the PF2 Pro following purchase, you'll import the main script Add-On file and then place the strategy template files in your NinjaTrader directory and activate them inside NinjaTrader by adding the PF2 strategy to your chart.

How Does the PF2 Identify High Value Entries?

The PF2 is a rule-based algo bot that primarily leverages MACD-based trends to identify high-quality entries. Rule-based algorithmic trading is considered more reliable than other types of algorithmic trading, as long as the underlying pattern is relatively simple and repeatable.

The PF2 also uses the EMA (Exponential Moving Average) to size TPs and SLs. Leveraging the EMA in this way ensures market conditions and volume are taken into account when executing a trade.

Further, the PF2's eject mechanisms are based on both indicators. The point is confluence - using multiple pieces of data to enter a trade, determine the scale and to identify when it's time to exit.

Do I Have to Install Anything to Run the PF2?

The PF2 Lite is an indicator that's added as an invite-only indicator to your TradingView charts once we add your TradingView e-mail to the invite only list. No software installation is necessary.

The PF2 Pro is delivered as a zipped file with a main NinjaScript Add-On file and three template files to import. The PF2 User Guide demonstrates how and where to place these files in your NinjaTrader directory to utilize them properly. It is not a standalone piece of software and does not require an executable file. This maximizes security for users.

How Do I Use the PF2?

The PF2 is designed to be as simple as possible to operate. The PF2 Lite is a TradingView indicator that users act on manually to make better trade decisions. When the rule-based market conditions are met, the PF2 Lite triggers a visual alert on your chart to signal an entry or exit.

The PF2 Pro is an automated, rule-based algo bot that's designed for use with NinjaTrader. It also includes the TradingView invite-only indicator, so you can choose to trade manually with it, as well.

The PF2 Lite (and Pro) come with an invite-only script that's added to one of your TradingView charts. Once added to a chart, traders can utilize TV alerts and the PF2's visual signals to make better manual trade decisions.

The PF2 User Guide provides a comprehensive list of TradingView alert messages, which users can use to automate their trading with their own software.

NinjaTrader

The PF2 Pro includes a main Add-On file to import, as well as template files that you simply copy and paste into your NinjaTrader directory. The included PF2 User Guide demonstrates exactly where to place the relevant files.

Once the files are placed, you only need to add the strategy to a chart and load the relevant template. It takes seconds and the included User Guide also shows how to do this.

NinjaTrader allows for full automated trade execution and we include optimal parameters for each template. If you prefer, you can adjust these parameters prior to executing the strategy on your chart.

The PF2 is designed for use with the following futures assets, including:

These are the backtested results over the 39 month term - from September 2022 to November 2025. For now, the backtest includes MNQ and MGC, but MES is also compatible with the PF2 - and we're constantly testing new assets to add to the PF2 portfolio. We will update these results accordingly as new assets are added.
